Cycling teams use the Bio-Bottle by Tacx
Several professional cycling teams use the Tacx Shiva in its Bio-Bottle version. This biodegradable and recyclable water bottle will leave a significantly smaller ecological foot print. With Shiva the Pro teams expect to endure less criticism from the spectators about the throwing away of water bottles in the environment. Biodegradable plastics are a modern necessity for our ever-endangered environment. With all the negative comments about the Tacx branded bottles, which are discarded by the riders during the Tour, we decided to turn this into something positive and take on the challenge to manufacture an environmentally friendly bottle. Launched in 2009, the Bio Bottle is a huge success. The Bio Bottle is biodegradable , but yet maintains the same look and feel as our standard bottles. The Tacx sponsored Tour teams have successfully used the Bio Bottle during the last three Tours.
The Bio Bottle is made from polyethylene and a revolutionary master batch additive. The Masterbatch works by encouraging and supporting the bacteria present. When products naturally biodegrade it converts the base material into a food source for microbes with no harmful or toxic residues.
- Sunlight and heat does not affect the process. Composting begins in a Landfill facility, the process take 1-5 years.
- The bio bottle is available in other colours from 5000 onwards.
- It is also suitable to print in full colour with a full wrap round design.
